During The Month of June the Jicarilla Health and Fitness Center is featuring a Health Challenge by eating 3 Fruits a Day for 30 Days, 3 Servings, Your Choice of Fruit.

The Summer Food Program is Serving FREE Meals to All Kids and Teens 18 years of Age and Under, at No Cost or No Enrollment. The Free Meals has Started as of June 14th until July 27th, 2017, Mondays thru Thursdays, at the Dulce Elementary Cafeteria.
Breakfast is Served from 8:30am to 9:00am and Lunch is from 12:25pm to 12:45pm, Adults are Welcomed at a Fee.

June 27th- The Regular Meeting of the Dulce Independent School Board of Education has been Re-Scheduled to Tuesday, June 27th, 2017. The Work Session will begin at 3:00pm; With No Action Being Taken at This Time. The Regular Meeting will start at 4:00pm inside the Dulce Independent Schools Administration Board Room.
The Purpose of this Meeting is to Discuss and Take Action Upon the Items Reflected on the School Board Agenda. The Agenda will be posted on Thursday, June 22nd, at the Dulce Independent Schools Administration Building. June 27th- The Higher Education Committee Has One Vacancy Member Opening. Requirements are: You Must Be an Enrolled Jicarilla Apache Nation Member, 21 Years of Age or Older and Must Submit a Letter of Interest and Resume to the Higher Education Program. The Closing Date is Tuesday, June 27th at 5:00pm.

June 29th- Attention All Jicarilla Apache Nation Departments, The Payroll Office is Informing You that All Timesheet’s and Leave Slips will be Due on Thursday, June 29th Before 10:00am. Time Cards can be Turned in on Wednesday, July 5th Beginning at 8:00am.
All Payroll Checks will be Processed on June 30th and Dated for July 6th, Payroll Distribution, Therefore No Changes to Timesheet’s will be Allowed after Thursday, June 29th, 2017. The Month of July is the Dulce Community Clean Up Month. The Jicarilla Apache Environmental Protection Office will Provide “Trash Bags” for Families, Departments and Enterprises. Each Family and Tribal Department is Encouraged to Clean Up Around the Community, Job Sites, and Home Sites Throughout the Reservation.
The Jicarilla Apache Environmental Protection Department will Coordinate with the Community and the Following Tribal Departments: The Jicarilla Apache Police Department, the Jicarilla Apache Housing Authority, the Jicarilla Game and Fish Department and the Jicarilla Apache Administration.

July 5th- The “Fifth of July” Fun Run/Walk is Scheduled for Wednesday, July 5th at 6:00pm with Registration at 5:30pm beginning at the Jicarilla Student Residence Center. The Course will Start From the Student Residence Center, Towards Mundo Lake. There will be Three Different Distances, 1 Mile, 2 Mile and 5k. July 12th- The Jicarilla Behavioral Health’s Prevention Program Presents the 3rd Annual “Get the Scoop” Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, July 12th at the Dulce Park from 10:00am to 3:00pm. July 13th- The Dulce Fire Department Presents the “3rd Annual Firefighter Fitness Challenge” on Thursday, July 13th from 9:00am to 6:00pm at the Dulce Football Field. This is a Winner Take All for Male and Female Division.
Featured Events are: Hose Carry, Sand Bag Carry and Throw, Keiser Sled, Hand Over Hand Pull, Farmers Walk, Wall Ball Shots, Push Sled, Dummy Drag, Tire Flips and 400 Meter Run.
A Warning from the Dulce Fire Department, Obstacles are Physically Demanding and the Dulce Fire Department Will Not Be Responsible for Any Injuries That May Occur As A Result of Your Voluntary Participation During the Fitness Challenge.

 Attention All Jicarilla Apache Nation Departments, According to the Treasury Department, All Youth Employment Payroll Checks will Now be Distributed from the Disbursement Office. Departments are No Longer Allowed to Pick Up Youth Employment Payroll Checks. This will lift the Responsibility of the Departments Having to be Accountable of Checks and Also to Avoid Encounters with Parents. Youth Employees will now have Access to their Checks Anytime of the Day from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Mondays thru Fridays at the Disbursement Window. The Department of Veterans Affairs Native American Direct Loan Program is Now Set in Place for All Jicarilla Apache Nation Veterans.                                                                 What is the Native American Direct Loan Program? It is a Loan Program, Enacted by Public Law 102-547, to Help Eligible Native American Veterans Obtain Home Loan Financing to Purchase, Construct or Improve Homes on Federal Trust Lands or to Refinance a Prior Native American Direct Loan to Reduce the Interest Rate.
Why Use the Native American Loan Program? The Lender is the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, With No Down Payment, It is Easy to Qualify with No Private Mortgage Insurance Cost. The Veterans Affairs Offers a Low Fixed-Rate of 4.25% Interest Rate with a 30 Year Mortgage with the Maximum Loan Limits of Up to $424,100.00 in Most Areas. This Re-Usable Benefit Gives Native American Veteran’s the Opportunity of Home Ownership and Frees Up Tribal Funding to be Used in Other Areas.
The Native American Direct Loan Program has a Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Between the Jicarilla Apache Nation and the Veterans Affairs.
